Hellraiser

Hellraiser is definitely a classic score from Young. I have not seen the whole film, but it is suppose to be a classic horror film too. You probably have seen the pin-head, right? Also, the soundtrack cover art is one of the most disturbing ones I have seen. You probably can't see very clear with the small image. It is like a hook tearing out human flesh.... The best part of the score is definitely the haunting main theme. It is presented right away with blasting horns in the album. There is also a variation of the theme appears later in the score. The score is much more symphonic than I expected to be. Young used almost every instrument and gadget to creat a dark and sad mooded score. Strings, brass, woodwinds, percussions, harp, piano. However, due to the genre of the movie, the occurance of the symphonic moments is very limited. It is just atmospheric dark music most of the time. There are not many memorable parts other than the main theme. Nonetheless, Young's fans and genre addicts should check this one out.
