A pretty good orchestral score by David Newman. The first track starts with "Hoffa End Credits" 7:58 (The longest track in the album). It is one of the best tracks since the cue is long enough for Newman to build up moments. The main theme is glorious and is played with horns most of the times. Although the melody is simple, I quite like it. The orchestrations involve with a lot of brass and strings instruments. And the first two tracks are quite symphonic. The reason I gave this one a three stars is that the rest of the score gets a little too dark. Also, 10 out of 17 tracks are less than two minutes. It is very hard to build up strong moments in those tracks. Another good thing about the release is that it also has the trailer music of the movie, also composed by Newman. In general the score is quite enjoyable when listening along, but it does not have a lot of exciting elements. | |
