Not that bad of a horror score. I actually kind of like it. I think Jerry Goldsmith's score for "Omen" has major influence to this score. Robinson uses strings pizzicato and choir whispering sounds to create a uncomfortable feel. There are some choral part and chord progression sounds almost exactly like "Omen." The original theme ("Nightmare on the Elm Street"), by Charles Bernstein, is mixed very well with his newly created music. Other then the horror music part, the "victory" (defeat Freddie) music part is not bad too (Only two or three tracks out of the total of 33 tracks). Robinson also uses rock music to present the "reality" part of the movie. And of course, the song, "One, two, Freddy is coming for you. Three, four, you better lock your door...." is included in this soundtrack, at the every end. If you like horror score, raise the rating a half step up. | |
