For those who don't know much about Takemitsu, this CD will probably scare them away from his works. Believe me, he has done a lot of great score, for example Ran. There are only two tracks (out of 15) that I enjoy here. The first track is "Don't Fence Me In" which last less than two minutes. It is like music from a comedy (like Randy Edelman's scores). The other track that I like is the last one, which is not a score by Takemitsu. It is a traditional Japanese Taiko (drums) piece. The track last about 8 mins fortunately. So what about the rest of the score? They are dark, slow and extremely soft. They are so dark and soft that it makes you think you are playing a blank CD. Don't say that I did not warn you on this one.
