Sleepers

Another excellent score of Williams. When I saw the movie, I tried to pay attention to the music as well as the movie. And my conclusion was most of the tracks are going to be as unsettling as the movie. And I noticed that the best track is going to be the "football game" track. Now that I have really listened to it. The CD is not as unsettling as I thought it was going to be. There are only a few dark and unsettling cues throughout the CD. The "Football Game" turns out to be my favorite track. The tracks are not in chronological order. They are rearranged and make the CD more enjoyable. Other then the "football game," the main theme is excellent too. It is sad but yet beautiful. Some of the tracks involve electronic instruments and I like the way Williams uses them. The music features the French horn solo of James Thatcher and the flute solo of Janet Ferguson. I think they are both the members of the Boston Pops. Beautiful solos of them. Williams has proven that a little dark and sad movie, like Sleepers, can still have a beautiful score. (He could have done a better job for Nixon.)
