Newcomers in this month's chart: - This month's highest new entry is Cate Blanchett, the brilliant Australian actress who was nominated for an Academy award as best leading actress and lost to you-know-who. While a lot of people whined over the fact that Gwyneth won because she, as they put it, was exactly the kind of actress that the jury likes to give these kinds of awards, did Cate seem to take her loss with dignity. For an actress who just has had her International break- through it probably meant just as much to even get nominated. Cate is not an actress that we expect to see unemployed over the next five years... - Whitney Houston has been doing extremely well lately. First, she made a duet with Mariah Carey for the movie "Prince of Egypt" which topped the charts and that was awarded an Oscar for best song in a movie. Then she released her new album "My love is your love", which sold really well. Currently she has two hit singles at the same time, "It's not right, but it's OK" over in Europe and "Heartbreak hotel" over in the US. Could the girl be doing any better...? - Sandra Bullock has just released a new movie called "Forces of nature" and it currently no. 1 at the box office in the US. Is this perhaps the movie that once again will make Sandra Bullock a megastar on the big screen? Probably not, but it's nice to see Sandra back at the top again... - A number of women were voted back on the list again via the monthly poll that you can be a part if you want to influence the real list. All the women had actually one thing in common this time; they are all established actresses that has been on the list before. So besides the just mentioned Sandra Bullock we also welcome Denise Richards, Claire Danes, Alicia Silverstone and Jeri Ryan back. - The final newcomer on the list is the singer of the group the Corrs, Andrea Corr. The Corrs has sold more records than any other group in the UK during the last months. Interestingly enough is both their debut album and the follow-up doing well. Andrea recently had a bit of an accident at the Brit Awards. When the group was being photographed after having received an award for best International group (they are Irish), her dress slipped and she showed a bit more than intended... Movers: - Well, I have told you for months now that Gwyneth would win that Oscar (I started doing that as early as at the end of last year), so I can't really say that I'm surprised that she did. She was well worth it too, so she also definitely deserves to remain no. 1 on the list for the third month in a row. - Britney Spears has probably sold more singles than anyone else this year, she does for instance top the UK Top 20 chart of the year. British Christian groups recently accused Britney of having made a too sexy video that would encourage people to have sex with children. All I can say about but that is that dirt - just as beauty - is in the eye of the beholder (as well as mind)... - Nicole Kidman and her husband Tom Cruise have been the talk of the town lately, since the trailer to their joint upcoming movie "Eyes wide shut" contained a whole lot of nudity. "Eyes wide shut" became the great director Stanley Kubrick's last movie since he recently passed on to another life. He happened to be one of my favorites, I consider "A Clockwork Orange" to be the greatest movie that ever has been done. - If you want your share of juicy gossip, bite into this; rumor has it that the creator and script writer of the TV series "Ally McBeal", David E Kelley, has left his wife (Michelle Pfeiffer) for his leading lady in the series, Calista Flockhart. Not a bad piece of gossip, huh...? - Helen Hunt is about to star in the last episode ever of "Mad about you". She has co-written the episode with co- star Paul Reiser and will also direct it. I guess Helen will focus on her movie career after having finished doing the successful comedy series. It will be tough to follow up "As good as it gets" though, especially since that one happened to be as good as they get... - Everybody's favorite subject of gossip is probably the relationship between Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston. The couple is about to get married and perhaps also get themselves a baby (according to the tabloids). It has also been reported that Brad fell in love with Jennifer when he watched her in "Friends". While the rest of us just have crushes on our favorite actresses that never amounts to anything could the Bradster easily manage to get a date with Jennifer and the rest is, as they say, history... BTW, if the couple does get kids, should we then refer to them as the Brad bunch...? Almost made it into the list (we'll see next month): Tyra Banks, actress/model, USA Yasmine Bleeth, actress "Baywatch", USA Tori Amos, musician, USA Emma Lee Bunton, singer ("Spice Girls"), UK Monica Potter, actress, USA Courteney Cox, actress, USA Rachel Leigh Cook, actress, USA Ashley Judd, actress, USA Maria Bello, actress ("E.R."), USA Sophie Marceau, actress, France Amy Weber, model, USA Teri Hatcher, actress, USA    Megyn Price, actress ("Late line"), USA Nikki Cox, actress ("Unhappily ever after"), USA Rebecca Romijn-Stamos, model/show host, USA Cindy Crawford, supermodel/actress, USA Comments, nominations, etc. are as always welcome. Just remember that a nomination such as "Ms. x should be in because of her big hooters" hardly will be taken seriously. Until next month, / Mauvaise Honte
