Although it may not seem so, THE LIST IS BASED ON A EUROPEAN PERSPECTIVE OF THINGS. Newcomers in this months chart: - Say hello to Elle MacPherson, who makes a strong comeback on the list due to her appearance in "Batman & Robin". Elle is probably the ideal woman for any man of the 90s; good-looking, always nice and very bright. What more can you possibly ask for... - Salma Hayek also enters the list again, this time due to her recent performance in the comedy "Fools rush in". Back in Mexico, this hot blooded actress was known as a well-established and diverse actress, but when she came to the US, she was type-casted as a sex symbol. Now she has got her revenge, by proving that she can do comedy as well. Way to go, Salma... - It took a while, but this month Claire Danes finally makes an entrance on the list. Claire became famous when she starred in the short-lived TV series "My so called life" back in 1994 and is now mostly a movie actress. She recently picked up an MTV movie award for best actress in "Romeo + Juliet". - Lucy Lawless has been a cult figure for years now, starring as Xena in "Xena: Warrior Princess". Strangely enough, what really finally made her famous for a larger audience was that her breasts was accidentally exposed after she had sang the National Anthem at a hockey game. What can I say, it's a strange world... - The final newcomer is the former child model/actress Brooke Shields who has been doing very well with her new sitcom "Suddenly Susan". She also recently got married to tennis player Andre Agassi, so I guess you could say that life is not all that bad for her at the moment. Movers: - If you thought that the Spice Girls have had their moment of fame and now should start their trip down hill, you could not be more wrong. One year ago, the girls released their debut single "Wannabee" and most of us thought that this would be their only hit single. Now, one year later, I have realized that it seems like the Spice Girl fever has just really started in Europe. This summer they are seen everywhere and there are Spice Girls look-a-likes wherever you turn. I haven't seen anything similar since Madonna broke through in the mid 80s. On this list, that means that Victoria is number one this month. She is the most talked about Spice Girl at the moment due to her romance with english soccer star David Beckham. - It was time for Sandra Bullock to cash in on the phenomenal success of "Speed", so she has now gone on and made "Speed 2: Cruise Control". It looks like "Speed 2" will be another blockbuster, so I guess Sandra made the right choice. Keaneu Reeves on the other hand chose to do something else. By the way, big plus for using Willem Dafoe as the villain of the movie... - There is a Batman fever sweeping across the world right now. Since the film just premiered at the same time as I am writing this, I have no idea how it was received, but my guess is that it will do very well. Thus, all three batman women are doing very well on this list (Alicia, Uma and newcomer Elle). - The news about the split between Brad Pitt and Gwyneth Paltrow, came as a surprise to must of us. How the couple will be able to shoot a movie together this fall remains to be seen... - Word has it that Tea Leoni is pregnant. Could that be why she married X-files star Dave Duchovny so soon after they had met? Almost made it into the list (we'll see next month): - Carmen Electra, America's new little sweetheart. - Krista Allen, Billie Reed in "Days of our lives". - Marisa Garcia Asensio, spanish singer who sings in the group Paradisio, who has tortured us for quite a while now with their song "Bailando". - Yasmeen Ghauri, is it perhaps time for a comeback on the list for her? - Famke Janssen, Dutch Femme Fatale who could make a comeback on the list. - Sophie Marceau, due to appear in several new films this year. - Elisabeth Shue, may deserve a second chance. Comments, nominations, etc. are as always welcome. Just remember that a nomination such as "Ms. x should be in because of her big hooters" hardly will be taken seriously.
