After the first USS Defiant was destroyed, a new Defiant-class ship was built as a replacement. Called the USS Sao Paolo, Capt. Sisko was given permission to rename it Defiant. Aboard the new Defiant, you find Lt. Cmdr. Worf being continually annoyed by Q. General Martok inspects the ship while he's representing the Klingon Empire as Chancellor.
