| Summary: | Commander Sisko, returning from meetings with
Starfleet in light of events at the end of last season, brings with him the U.S.S. Defiant - the first in a new class of warships
designed to fight the Borg. Sisko is ordered to go to the Gamma quadrant to try and find the Founders of the Dominion and to
convince them that Starfleet is not a threat to them. The entire command crew goes on the mission as does Quark and Odo. Quark is along in the hopes that his business contacts in the Gamma quadrant can lead them to the Founders. One of the merchants he does business with points them toward a relay station. Dax and O'Brien however, are captured there but not before getting Sisko information on a possible location for the Founders from the relay station's computers. The Defiant, on its way to the new location, is found by the Jem'Hadar and the ship is attacked. The only ones to apparently escape are Major Kira and Odo who has been inexplicably drawn to the Omarion Nebula ever since entering the Gamma quadrant. |
