The Capitol Building

This is the capitol building from across the street outside. The true size isn't apparent until you get close to it.

Most of the building has this motif. Dignified.

Looking up into the dome from the second floor.

More of the annex. It's a lot more modern than the main building, and all underground. The skylights are at ground level.

Another view of the building from outside.

This is floor below the dome. You can see all the different nations that Texas has been a part of. Spain, France, Mexico, they're all here! That's a big star in the middle.

Panning right, you see more of the same room.

A new section of the capitol was built, this is the underground hallway connecting the new annex to the old part of the building. The articles on the wall detail the remodeling effort.

Don't forget.

A look down Congress Avenue to downtown Austin.
