Being a humungous fan of Olivers, after seeing him for the first time as a teenager in Werewolf, and falling madly in love with this hunk, I moved to Surrey. On buying his biography and discovering he'd bought a huge mansion near Dorking, I persauded a friend that a nice quiet drive around beautiful Dorking as a REALLY good idea. The name Oliver Reed did not enter the conversation. After fruitless hours and may tracks that resembled rabbit warrens I had to admit I was looking for somewhere in particular. My pal insisted on being driven straight home.(He was not a fan). I spent many days after this, on my own and never did find it. We even spent our honeymoon in Guernsey, for when Ollie moved there I was determined to meet the man at least once.

Learning of his demize left me in a state of disbelief for a few days. I have now vowed that one day before my demize to visit Ireland. He was and always will be the most talented, fun, naughty and adaptable actor and sorely missed by many.

Comments: I never met Ollie, but my brother did as a wine waiter at a This is Your Life special. He was quite drunk to begin with,so his wife told my brother to just serve him water, saying "he won't notice"Unfortunately for my brother he did, and summoned him to his table"When I ask for a drink I mean a drink, you've been listening to her"so my brother decided to give him a glass of pure vodka, as he handed the glass to Ollie he was told to wait, untill his customer had tasted the drink, after one gulp Britains number one star replied..."your a star!"

Hi Guys!

Just a line to tell you that the great Oliver had recorded his creepy voice in the intro of the album "HEAVY DEMONS" of a band called DEATH SS (in 1991). The song played by Mr. Reed is called "WALPURGISNICHT".

Comments: Just visited your site that I was unaware of till now and was amazed at the content. To which I would like to contribute.

Back in 1995 my son and I had the great privilege to work alongside Ollie on a little known film The Bruce made by The Cromwell Film Co. It was our second film with this company.

We were extras/investors on the first, Chasing the Deer, where our creative talents were noted and we were invited to use them on The Bruce. Creating shields/tabards/flags etc; and crewing as armourers.

It is worth mentioning at this time that our involvement with films came about through Brian Blessed who befriended us back in 1993, another long story.

We were very nervous and worried to some extent being our first film as props/armourers and of course meeting Ollie. From the very first minute he had put us both at ease and indeed wanted to know all about us. He had is own private caravan and we often sat with him sampling the golden nectar of which there was plenty. Josephine as ever keeping a watchfull eye on us, bless her.

You can imagine the memories we have and the adventures we had. I was allowed to camcorder throughout the whole year of production and have stills too.

We have a unique memorial to a great pal.
