Good to see that there is a site out there for Ollie. I came to notice him through The Assassination Bureau (watching it for my favourite actress Diana Rigg) and thought he was utterly beautiful. I haven't seen much of his work since.

Thanks again for the website!!

Obviously I'm coming on board with comments rather late in the scheme of things. I've been a "closet" admirer of Oliver Reed for years, initially mesmerized by the mysteriously charismatic Bill Sikes.

Was he a chauvinist? Was he eccentric? Was he controversial? Was he charismatic? Was there a sensitive & reflective side? Most definitely to all the aforementioned. But, there was also an intense and immensely gifted actor who seemed to put 110% into his performances regardless of whether or not critics approved.

As I understood it, he was a committed professional, having quite a respectable work ethic, despite his extra curricular activities. It seemed to me that he lived his life on "his" terms, regardless of what the rest of the world thought and I admired him for that! He seemed committed to getting as much out of this life as he could...and it appears that he made every attempt to do so.

How many of us can make that same claim? Did he have issues? Yeah, well, don't we all? (Fortunately for most of us,we're not under the constant scrutiny of the press).

He also seemed approachable and most definitely genuine! I truly admire & respect high-profile personalities that are so. Despite his eccentricities, I'd say he was an actor who was, overall, "well grounded" and worked at staying that way. The same certainly cannot be said for "many" others in his profession.

I wish I'd met him, just to be in the presence of that kind of sensitivity, charisma, intensity and gusto. I think he would've drank a toast to this classic t-shirt saying..."Drink in Moderation, Eat Right, Exercise -- Die Anyway!"

What a void that has been left....Hope all's well for you Ollie, wherever you are!
