Great to see this site, as a dedication to Ollie's life and that people did admire him. Very true that Olly showed people that stars could be themselves and not beholden to film companies, directors, music companies, public image, political correctness etc.

Ollie was a truly genuine person who said what he felt be it on TV or in the pub, he had the courage of his convictions, which is very rare these days. I also believe that he was on the verge of a major comeback, but I am not yearning for evidence of this when I see The Gladiator because Ollie is already immortal--his films will be shown long after we are all gone.

I wish I had met him, though a girlfriend of mine did at the BBC one day. Remember his appearence on The Word and how the pipsqueek TV presenters made an arse of themselves by filming him in the changing room.

RIP mate and thank you for all your movies and their magical moments.

I agree with Brooksy. Ollie deserves his own religion. I offer the suggestion of "Ollie-ism". Every Sunday worshippers should go to an ale house. Olli'es birthday would be a worldwide holiday for all day drinking.

At one point in everyone's life, they should all make a pligrimage to Ollie's grave and get pissed in O'Brien's and empty a can of Guinness over Ollie's grave! Any thoughts?

Oliver Reed has always been one of my favorite actors and i was shcked to hear of his passing. I even still have the scrapbook I made of him in the 1970s. He will be missed.

Happy is the only way to express how I feel about finding this site of other Oliver Reed devotees. If he was in any movie I would go to that movie, simply because he was in it. I am still looking for a good photo of him to put on a personal webpage. I can not believe the movie industry did not show more recognition of his career after his passing. I am lad we are keeping his presence alive on this website. Thanks.

I was never sure sure who this man was until after he died. I had seen much of his work and after the Oscars last night I decided to look him up.

What a charismatic man and what a loss. I have always found some sort of strange kinship with him and am strangely upset in his passing.

To his family who may be reading this, my deepest sympathy.

Perry

Ollie Reed...what was it that article in in some magazine stated? (very descriptive, I know), but 1938-1999 pints...what a sound man...like it, get it down.

Love and pint glasses always Ollie.

I had heard that there were a lot of conflicts between Karen Black and Mr. Reed during the filming of Burnt Offerings. He seemed like he could be a stubborn man if he wanted to be. I really enjoy his work and his screen presence. I never knew until recently that he had died. He did a great job in being able to put up with Bette Davis as well. Anyone who hasn't seen this movie, really should.

I'll miss you a lot Oliver.

I always enjoyed Oliver's espades and became a fan for life long ago after reading his autobiography Reed All About Me, I've never parted with my copy. I always found his life story more enjoyable than any film he ever appeared in. Came across a copy of The Sellout the other day, not bad and it is now at home in my evergrowing film collection.

I had no idea about his death until last night. He was a brilliant character actor who should have been in more films. I'll miss him.

Many years ago when I was just a teenager, I saw a movie called Night Creatures and I developed a terrible crush on Oliver Reed. Some time later, I was up late one night watching TV and this movie called The Shuttered Room came on and there he was ag in.

I just really think he was a great actor and last night while watching the Academy Awards, I saw his face come up in memoriam and I couldn't believe it! It made me very sad, and this morning I decided to see what I could find about his death, and I ound this website.

What a wonderful place--it is so nice to read how others cared and how much they all admired him so. The world has lost a marvelous actor and a wonderful human being. It's a new day and the sun is shining, but somehow there's an empt feeling inside.

Here's to you Olie and thanks for sharing your gift with all of us.

I have visited this site once before. I now sit at home, watching the Oscars tonight...and I see his face in memoriam...and I cry. Not for Reed, but for missing him so very much. I have lit a cigarette, have poured a drink, and I toast in his honor. Perhaps the greatest thing I can do in his honor...is remember...and remember I will. xo

Met Ollie in Zambia in 1978 when he was filming with Keenan Wynn. Was wondering if anyone knows the name of the movie and is it available on video?

Teriffic website for a great actor, although I would like more quotes and some great stories like the time he drank Lee Marvin under the table and carried him out of the bar on his shoulder.

There is a new site now being created to honour the memory of Ollie. This site will not seek to tell his life story or offer any form of information, other than to provide a tribute forum for those wishing to remember Ollie. The si e is currently under construction in Malta and England. I have spoken at length with the Cremona family who own The Pub in Valetta where Ollie took his last sip with sailors from HMS Cumberland and his lovely wife Josephine. They will soon be offering mem rabilia such as T Shirts and posters - watch this space....

I didn't even know that he was gone until the Oscars.

Oliver! has always been one of my favorites -- Reed was so handsome in it. I may have seen him before then, but the first time that I actually connected his face and name was in that 1968 musical. It was a big event (so was Romeo and Juliet),so we went to see it as one of our field trips. From that time on I was hooked. I've been an admirer for many, many years.
