For the "Toccata and Fuge D Minor" sequence, Walt Disney wanted the audience to feel as though they were watching the orchestra perform through half closed eyes. Hence, this is a completely abstract part of the film.
All the music for this feature was recorded at the Philadelphia Academy of music except for "The Sorcerer's Apprentice."
