Quoting from Eric Troyer, I was born at an early age. I was born in Blackpool where my family had a farm (at Marton), to be precise (but we lived at the South Shore district). Graham aged about 18 months We moved to Whittle-le-Woods, near Chorley, when I was about 2. After a few years we moved to Coventry where I attended Whitley Woods Primary School and the Caludon Castle School for boys. When I was about 15 we moved to Cardiff where I attended the Howardian High School for boys. Aged about 17 I went to Southampton University for a year and my family moved to Hull.

From 1962 to the mid '80s my family also owned another property in Lincolnshire which used to be the 'Crimea' public house.
