THE AMAZING SCREW-ON HEAD

by Mike Mignola. Published by Dark Horse - Maverick, 2002.

A one-shot (at least for now) comic by twisted genius Mike Mignola of HELLBOY fame, THE AMAZING SCREW ON HEAD tells the action packed story of the multi-bodied robotic hero of the title, a faithful agent of President Lincoln back in the day.

Summoned to action when the skull-faced Emperor Zombie and his henchmen threaten to unleash a deadly ancient power, Screw-On Head and his assistants, Mister Groin (a kindly butler-type) and Mister Dog (just that...a talking dog) burst into action. This involves a few moments of choosing a body for our hero to, literally, screw his head onto, and firing themselves across the Earth in a bullet-shaped rocketship. Doing battle with zombies, skeletons, vampires and monsters all over the world, SCREW-ON HEAD is exactly the type of stand alone madcap insanity that we don't get enough of these days. Weird for it's own sake, this book is a wonderful breath of insanity offering naught but good, zombie-fighting fun. Well done Mignola, you crazy bastard you!
