Loan shark Chili Palmer (John Travolta) had his fun as a gangster. So when buiness takes him to LA to collect a debt from film maker Harry Zimm (Gene Hackman) he gives Harry an idea for a movie. Chili is taken into the Hollywood scene. He gets filmstar Martin Weir (Danny DeVeito) to star in one of Harry's movies and romances movie queen Karen Flores (Rene Russo) It is the best time of his life for Chili until drug smugglers and an angry mobster Ray Barbone won't let him go. Hey this is Hollywood. Not life in the easy lane!
