The
&
Veterans Memorial Show, Davis CA
These photographs are from
the fourth annual show held on January 30th,
which combined the talents
of both Golden Bough and Tempest.
Golden Bough took the stage to start the show.
Paul Espinoza plays the guitar at the beginning.
Margie Butler, who plays guitar,
also plays the harp, tin whistle, spoons,
and bodrain, is also a great singer.
Lief Sorbye and Michael Mullen of Tempest joined
Golden Bough on stage. Here Michael teams up with
Alison Bailey from Golden Bough in a traditional Irish jig.
Then Tempest took to the stage, and really rocked the house
with their innovative
mix of traditional Celtic Music with the heavy rhythm of Rock
n Roll.
Lief Sorbye (left), front man for
Tempest strums away at his
double-neck electric mandolin while Michael Mullen (right),
the band's fiddle player, hams it up for the camera.
Here we see John Land (left), Tempest's
tallest member as well as its bass player getting
into the mood on stage. Michael Mullen and Lief Sorbye
(right), also perform together
as the acoustic duo Caliban, and released their first
album the night of the concert.
Tempest welcomed its newest
member, Dave Parnall, the
band's new guitarist.
The show concluded with a rousing a capella number sung
by both bands together on stage.
