The Truth About Cats and Dogs is a romantic comedy starring Janeane Garofalo, Uma Thurman and Ben Chaplin. The stars work well together, although I would like to have seen how well Goldie Hawn could have played Thurman's part.
Garofalo plays Abby, an intelligent radio vet who advises a handsome photographer when he rings her show about his pet dog. Charmed by her wit and intelligence, he asks to meet her and she agrees. But because of her insecurity about her looks, she instead introduces him to her pretty, but dumb neighbour who pretends to be Abby. Both girls end up falling for him in a big way and you can imagine the rest.
This film is both pleasing and enjoyable. I watched in interest, most of the time with a smile on my face. It could be described as a perfect 'date movie' if there is such a thing.
