In and Out is a comedy starring Kevin Kline, Joan Cusack, Debbie Reynolds and Bob Newhart. Director Frank Oz and screenwriter Paul Rudnick pull together to create a meaningful comedy with a message not to be ignored.
A teacher in a small town is 'outed' by one of his former pupils, now turned actor, at a nationally viewed awards ceremony. Him being gay comes as a suprise to him, his parents, his pupils at school and not to mention his soon to be wife. The press are having a field day tracking him down, but there is one question that still remains unanswered. Is he or isn't he?
This film does have it's ups and downs, but the good outweighs the bad and make the film well worth the ticket price. It tackles important real life issues but at the same time takes a humerous view to create all round reasonable entertainment.
