Lolita is a drama with a very adult theme but contrary to public opinion is not erotic or pornographic. However, I think it best to emphasise that it does have a very mature, adult theme. It stars Jeremy Irons and Dominique Swain, for a peculiar couple to say the least.
Lolita is a young girl, living with her mother and her mum's new husband, Humbert (Irons). When her mother dies, she is taken into full care by Humbert and the pair become more and more involved, both emotionally and physically.
Lolita is an intellectually challenging film. Its theme could be torn down and discussed many times, yet the argument would still remain fresh. The twists in the story really contribute towards the films success, but even without the film would remain highly entertaining. The book by Vladimir Nabokov is also well worth a read.
