Vito DeLuca, a reputed soldier in the Patriarca crime family has been
deported back to Italy. DeLuca, 52 of Seekonk Mass., has been a fixture
in Rhode Island criminal circles since he immigrated to the United States in 1958. He also dabbled in real estate,
ran the Small World Bakery on Providence's Federal Hill,
and managed prize fighters. But he was best known as a mob loan shark and enforcer.
A judge for the Immigration and Naturalization Service, citing a pair of felony
convictions--one of which dates back 20 years--has ordered DeLuca
deported to Italy by the month's end.
