VISIONS OF CHARLTON HESTON LOGO WELCOME!
Hi, I'm Candyblue
I have always wanted to join the Charlton Heston Fan Club, but it had disbanded many years ago. In 1992 I met with Charlton Heston backstage in Boston. I asked him if he would be interested in re-establishing his fan club. He declined, but he also said if he ever changed his mind, that I would be the president. Well, I still wish there was a Charlton Heston Fan Club, and I think I've found my solution here on the internet. I want my homepage to be a kind of fan club, where all of his adoring fans would be welcomed to discuss his career and his life. I'm sure his adoring fans would enjoy a special place where they could go to share their personal thoughts and memories regarding Charlton Heston.  If you wish to contact me please use my e-mail address below.

Do not despair if you do not score high on this quiz. It has taken me several years and a great deal of effort to gather all of this information (plus a whole lot more) together.

I have watched his movies many times, and frequently read all of his books, plus books written about him. I have watched many of his interviews on TV. I also have an extensive collection of memorabelia on him. I traveled the country to watch him perform on stage. I have met him 5 times, and corresponded with him for 7 years. I am probably one of his biggest fans, but my interest in him was not only as an actor. I also wanted to learn what kind of man he was. I would be very much interested in sharing thoughts about this actor-man with other fans, even if your devotion to him is nowhere near the extent of mine. I simply wanted to create a place where all Charlton Heston fans would feel welcome.

BELOW I HAVE WRITTEN ABOUT MY MEETINGS WITH CHARLTON HESTON
I HOPE YOU ENJOY READING IT

Meeting him was a true dream of a lifetime. I worked very hard on my dream, and I paid my dues.I met him for the first time in August, 1990 backstage following his performance of "Love Letters" in LA I didn't recognize him immediately. He looked very different without makeup, so I stared at him for a few moments, while waiting for my turn to meet him. Slowly I began to recognize his chin and other chiseled features. I paid him a very sincere compliment and he grasped my hand and bent down to pretend to kiss it.He signed a handpainted Ben-Hur sweatshirt for me and my copy of his first book.We also took a picture together. It was just wonderful to meet him!
Between 1990 and 1995 I met him 5 times in all. I flew out to LA for the 1st meeting, and he was here in Boston for the 2nd meeting Feb, 1992. I flew out to Asheville, N. C.in August 92 for the 3rd time. He and his wife performed "Love Letters" on stage then. They were wonderful together. Lydia must have been a truly beautiful woman when she was young, because she was still lovely. Then in
Feb 93 I flew out to Albuquerque, NM to watch him do the same play with Carol Burnett. That time and the last one before it, I went to special receptions where I got to shake his hand and speak to him for a moment. He was always so handsome and so nice to me. I was a lot thinner then, and he let me know he thought I was pretty and he was flattered that I adored him so much. I always brought a special gift for him, and he really liked my gifts. When he walked into the room I either stopped breathing or I filled with sunshine from my head to my toes. It was wonderful!!!!

The last time I met Chuck my husband and I drove down to CT, where he was signing his "In The Arena".The people at the store were not very nice and there wasn't any time to speak to him. He didn't even look at me. I left with my tail between my legs. It was a terrible experience. When I told him how upset I was in a letter, he cut off all contact with me claiming I was too attached to him. I had been corresponding with him for 7 years, and whenever we met he was very warm to me. So his letter was a shock. Even his personal assistant with whom I still correspond, didn't agree with how he treated me after he read that letter.

However, not too long ago I sent him a card wishing him well after his announcement of Alzheimer's and a few months later I sent him a birthday card. He answered both with nice letters. So I guess he's forgotten who I am, which is fine. I'd rather be in touch than have him remember who I am and be nasty to me again.

So that's what it was like to meet him.

VISIONS OF CHARLTON HESTON

Like all of Chuck's devoted fans I, too, am deeply saddened by the onset of
his battle with Alzheimer's. I truly care about this man, and it breaks my
heart to have him suffer such a cruel fate. I pray that Mr. Heston will be
able to remain in the early stages of this disease for a long time, and when
that's no longer possible that he will move on quickly to spend the rest of time in Heaven
