Disney animators have , apparently been hiding things in their animations for years.
The animators started doing it as a kind of a joke but now it is like a find the character game that viewers can play!.
Recently I have begun looking with a more critical eye at some of my favourites and I have come up with a few.
If you could add to this list I would be so grateful. Leave a message in my guest book!
** Sebastian (the crab)from The Little mermaid appears briefly in Aladdin.
When the Genie has his cook book open after saving Aladdin. He pulls several things magically out of the book.
One of those is Sebastian, accompanied by a brief tune from The Little Mermaid.
The Hunchback Of Notre Dame
Belle (from Beauty and the Beast) is cleverly incorporated into The Hunchback Of Notre Dame.
She walks though a scene reading her book and wearing her trademark blue dress.
It is in the scene where Quasimodo is singing "Out There", she walks across the bottom right hand corner of the screen.
Also in Hunchback in this scene you can see a man carrying the rug from aladdin and in a crowd scene you can also see Abu atop a mast!
The Lion King
Apparently (although I have never been able to pick it up!!) There is a picture of
Mickey Mouse in the Lion King. When Simba is singing "I just can't wait to be King"
a pair of Mickey mouse ears appear in the sand.
Hercules
In the scene where Hercules is having his portrait painted onto a vase, he is wearing a lion skin. You might recognise it and realise exactly what happened to Scar after the hyenas got him in the Lion King!(Although one might think that he would be a little charred!)
Not only that but the two workers, who an adolescent Hercules nearly knocks off the top of an archway on his way to the market with his father, are actually cartoon characters who bear more than a striking resemblance to the Directors, John Musker and Ron Clements. Not only that but they did the voices too!
