guides Pooka to Anya , and together they embark on an exciting
journey. Devoted companion, fearless protector, and
Anya's kindred spirit, Pooka warns Anya of the many
dangers encountered throughout their daring adventure.
Vladimir
Good-natured and kind-hearted, Vladimir is a faded
aristocrat; he was a member of the once wonderful empire. He has charming manners and knowledge of
the Russian Court. Vladimir trains Anya in the royal
ways. Vladimir is the first to
recognize and nurture the growing attraction between
Anya and Dimitri.
Sophie
First cousin and lady-in-waiting to the Grand Duchess
Marie, Sophie is an eternal optimist and the recipient
of Vladimir's affection. Always supportive of Marie's
search for Anastasia, Sophie looks forward to the long
hoped-for reunion.
Grand Duchess Marie
Anastasia's grandmother is the Grand Duchess
Marie. She is the aging matriarch of Russia's long-reigning
Romanov family. Separated from Anastasia 10 years
earlier in the palace siege, Marie has offered a royal
fortune to the finder of her only surviving
granddaughter. Hence the two likely con men step in!
Bartok
Bartok, a comical, excitable albino bat, is master of the
droll comeback. This fast-flying creature is
never at a loss for words, even if he only mutters them
behind Rasputin's back. He doesn't really want to be involved in Rasputin's schemes but realises that he must do just that.
