EEEK!!! EEEEK!!! EEEK!!!! YIKES!!!
Ahhhh its that time of year again....the time where ghosties and ghoulies pop their heads up out of the depths of firey Hell...and it seems...X:WP is not immune... ;)
So all of these years Cyrene's tavern was haunted. Not only was it haunted but it was a portal to...Hell!!! Holy Olympus Xena we're not in Tartarus anymore!!!
Well you know that part reminded me of a book I read once...I think it was called "The Sentinel"...not the TV version but a very scary novel about people who were chosen to guard the gateway to Hell which was in an old house. It was quite scary.... *WEG*
Anyway whoa! Poor Cyrene was burned as a witch and her charred and blackened bones were left on a slab in a mausoleum along with a bunch of rotten food and...other stuff. Yum. :lol And the look on Xena's face when she picked up Mama's thigh bone. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Now I have to stop here and say I don't understand for the life of me how Gabby and Eve couldn't have eaten that food they found there...it had to have been around for years! Or did they bring that with them? Maybe I missed something I dunno...but if they did they better get their fruit from a different shop next time....to paraphrase Indiana Jones....maggots...why did it HAVE to be maggots?" UGH!!!!
Ok so here were the SFX we didn't get in the Season Premiere I suppose. Lots of morphing and ohhhh that part where Gab and Xena's arms merged reminded me of Elastic Man. LOL!
And I gotta say Renee does EEEEVIL so well! Uhmmm...I mean Renee does NAKED eeeevil so well! ;)
But...but..."In the name of Eli I command this evil presense to be cast out!" Huh? In the name of...Eli? Is this still a Jesus or God reference? :rolleyes And really Eve...say it with more feeling or it just don't work babe! You saw that yourself! :lol And did she say that enough to make you just want to strangle her or what? *Rollin' my eyes here folks...*
Then of course we have the obligatory Xena death...again! *Rollin' my eyes some more...* I really really REALLY hope the next time she dies that she stays dead! LOL!
Eve's torment was done pretty well...alla those souls that Livia killed surrounding her was kind of chilling. But the best thing was when bad-ass Livia emerged and when Eve ran to her to make her disappear they merged and Eve...was...LIVIA! Yeah baby! I have to say now that I so much prefer the Eve/Livia with some wickedness than the Wendy Whiner she's turned into!
Oh yeah of course when Mama Xena is reminded that to bring Mephistoles to earth meant she was putting the entire world at risk...it didn't matter beans to Xena. Yeah ok...
And when Mehpistoles reminds Xena that to kill him means she will take his place as ruler of hell she spits out...
"SO BE IT!!!"
Now THAT'S the Xena I remember but uhm...all of that to save her Precious? Whatta mom! *Rollin' my eyes"
Then when she finally DOES defeat him she says...
"I have a feeling this isn't over yet."
Duh Xena, thats what everybody has been trying to tell you! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Okay all that out of the way...I gotta say that despite all of the above I actually ENJOYED this episode....blood, goo, bugs and all. But then....Hallowe'en IS my favorite holiday.....
