At 25, BEN AFFLECK (A.J. Frost) is one of the youngest actor/writers in Hollywood to have a film ("Good Will Hunting") honored with an Academy AwardŽ nomination for Best Picture. Affleck and his best friend and co-author Matt Damon (who was also nominated for Best Actor) won the OscarŽ for Best Original Screenplay.

Their script, which attracted such top talent as Robin Williams and director Gus Van Sant, also earned Williams the award for Best Supporting Actor as well as a nomination for Best Original Song. Affleck and Damon are currently at work on their next project for Miramax.

Affleck starred in Kevin Smith's comedy "Chasing Amy" opposite Joey Lauren Adams and Jason Lee, and also starred with Jeremy Davies in Mark Pellington's adaptation of Dan Wakefield's best-selling coming-of-age novel, "Going All the Way." Both films premiered at the 1997 Sundance Film Festival and earned Affleck rave reviews from such prominent critics as Janet Maslin of "The New York Times," who characterized him as "a suave-looking actor whose flair for comic self-doubt made a strong impression."

Affleck's other film credits include "Mall Rats," "Cruz," "Dazed and Confused," and "School Ties."

Affleck's upcoming projects include "Shakespeare in Love," Kevin Smith's "Dogma," and "Forces of Nature," in which he stars opposite Sandra Bullock.
