This page is about the Melissa Joan Hart's newest TV movie called Two Came Back.
Two Came Back aired Sunday, September 28, on ABC. It stars Melissa Joan Hart as Susan Clarkston, Jonathan Brandis as Jason, David Gail as either Matt or Rick Foster, Jon Pennell as either Rick Foster or Matt, Susan Walters as Allie, and Susan Sullivan as Mrs. Clarkston.
It is the story of five kids, about 22 years old, sailing a boat called Sea-Brook to Vancouver, Canada. They experience everything that could possibly go wrong.
The captain, Rick Foster, is out to restablish himself after "messing up" on his last trip. He's determined to arrive early, which means cutting as many corners as possible.
The "first-mate" is Matt, a kind-of friend of Rick's. He just wants money to build his racing boat, but he loves sailing and is an expert at it.
Susan Clarkston is a very experienced sailor who loves any and all kinds of sailing. She sailed around the world halfway through her sophomore year in college. She's a serious sailor, but knows how to have fun. She is very independent, so she doesn't like to have to count on anyone for anything. She is the love interest of both Matt and Jason. Susan is the glue that holds the crew together.
Jason McDonald is Susan's former boyfriend and an excellent sailor. He still loves Susan and really doesn't understand why she's determined to not to need him or anyone else. He is the second core of the crew.
Allie is Rick's girlfriend, and only along for the ride and to tan. It's hard to say how much she knows about boats.
The trip's ill-fortune is foreshadowed by several events. First, Rick decides to leave several days ahead of sechulde, which means the boat isn't checked out for any problems. Then Rick gets into fight at a party, and the others have to get him on the boat. When Jason goes to get Susan and Matt (who were kissing) a mirror breaks (and you know what that means) from their surprise.
The first major incident occurs on day two. The propeller goes out when the engine overheats (due to Rick's negligence) and they barely miss crashing into a dock at a boat peir.
To top it off, hostitility develops between Matt and Jason when it becomes clear (to Matt) that Susan "likes Jason better." This leads to an INCREDIBLE amount of tension between the two.
The biggest danger is the storm they face. Allie comes on dock to help, and ends up getting severely injured. Matt and Jason get into a fight and Jason falls overboard. Luckily, they manage to get him back on the boat. Rick contacts the Coast Guard for assistance, but ends up telling them the Sea-Brook is okay, when it is anything but. A tidal wave comes and the ship begins filling with water and going under. Susan trys to get the lifeboat with their supplies ready, but it gets blown away. Rick, Matt, and Allie all get thrown overboard from the force of the waves, but Jason is trapped under water below deck on the Sea-Brook.
They manage to get onto one of their lifeboats (although it is the one without the emergancy supplies) and survive..... for the night. The next day, things begin to go from bad to really bad to humongously bad to enormously bad.
I won't tell you how it ends (even though you may not get the chance to see it if you missed it). I'll say that only two survive (that's why it's called Two Came Back, duh!). I won't say who dies when and how (but they are pretty strange deaths). If you really want to know more about the movie, e-mail me and I'll tell ya. You sure missed an awesome movie, if you didn't see it! You'll just have to keep looking for it to rerun sometime (most likely on a different network).
