Ernest Graves - A VERSATILE ACTOR
He Can Handle Any Role, from Shakespeare to Contemporary

Handsome Ernest Graves was born May 5, 1919, in Chicago but didn’t get around to appearing on TV until he was 18, when he did a walk-on role in Chicago.

After studying four years on a scholarship at the Goodman Theatre, Chicago, he saw almost four years service as a Navy ensign. He made he debut on the Broadway stage in Macbeth, and subsequently appeared in Cyrano de Bergerac, Eastward in Eden, Tiger at the Gates, and in many Shakespearian plays.

In 1958, he portrayed Glenn Turner on Today Is Ours, and in 1961 he played Alex Bowden on The Guiding Light. Now he’s Victor Lord on One Life to Live.

He married Helen Grant in 1949, and has one daughter, Leslie, now 17. They live in a New York apartment.

Ernest is a muscular six-foot-one, with dark blond hair and blue eyes. He is quite athletic, and enjoys tennis and snow skiing in particular. Around the house, he relaxes by doing woodwork. He sands old furniture, builds shelves, makes things.
