If your question is not posted here, then it's because I was unable
to answer it. However, I never give up so check back at a later time and
if I find the answer, I will post it.
Q: I stumbled across a picture of Gillian Spencer, the first actress to
play Viki and am sure I've seen this actress before in another role.
A: You probably have ... Gillian Spencer went on to create the role of
Daisy Cortlandt on All My Children
Q: Why did the actor who played Joey Buchanan leave? What is he doing now?
A: Nathan Fillion (Joey) left to pursue other projects (i.e. Hollywood).
Rumor is, he's already been cast in a series ... we'll keep you updated on
his whereabouts as he certainly has many fans!
Q: Has Larry Wolek's character been written off the series or is he
appearing on a recurring basis?
A: Good question! It's difficult to keep track of actors who are not on
contract with the show as they can disappear for months at a time with no
prior notice. Michael Storm (Larry) was on contract between 1969-1994, and
for the last three years has been appearing on a recurring basis. However,
I have a sinking feeling that we will not be seeing much more of Dr. Larry.
This could change with the new headwriters, of course, but the stories
appear to be heading in a direction that wouldn't necessitate the
character's
presence. And now that Marty is a doctor, she seems to be running the
hospital herself. What's a chief of staff to do?
Q: What happened to the character of Julia Medina? Neither my wife or I
can recall ... Also, what happened to the knife that was used to stab Kevin
Buchanan last spring?
A: Well, I can answer your first question. After the world found out that
she was *not* actually paralyzed, Julia became a prime suspect in Carlo
Hesser's (first) murder. Of course, Stephanie Hobart was responsible. In
the end, a relieved Julia gave Max a hug goodbye and walked out of town on
her own two feet. As for the question about the knife, I'm not really sure
as I took a break from watching OLTL last year. If anyone else can answer
that question, please send in the answer and I'll post it!
Q: Are there plans to bring Thom Christopher back any time soon?
A: Not that I am aware of. It's a real shame, too ... I had high hopes that
his return in March would be permanent. Of course, as there's a good
chance that Carlo is still alive (and posing as his twin brother Mortimer),
the talented Thom C. can be brought back at any point.
Q: I remember Marty with Suede Pruitt a couple of years ago. Didn't Todd
kill Suede? Why don't they ever list murder as one of Todd's many
crimes?
A: Just another example of the writers playing loose with history. Here's
how it actually happened. Todd attacked Marty; Suede came in to protect her;
there was a fight between Todd and Suede; Todd shoved him to the ground and
he hit his head on a wrench (!), which ultimately killed him. I would think
it would at least warrant a wrongful death suit against Todd, but all charges
against him were pardoned after he saved Marty, CJ and Jessica from the car
crash (See History 1994 for all of this information).
Q: Was Susan Haskell (Marty) in the movie Mrs. Winterbourne with Ricki
Lake?
A: Yes, she was! For a split second, Haskell appeared as a pregnant
woman.
Q: In real life who is Blair married to? Is she pregnant and if so, when
is she due?
A: Kassie DePaiva (Blair) is married to Jim DePaiva (Max) in real life and
they are expecting a child in early May. Kassie will be taking a nine-week
maternity leave from the show. She has continued playing Blair very late
into her pregnancy and now has to act out these very sad scenes involving
her character's children. What a trouper!
Q: Where and when did Todd and Blair first meet?
A: This scene stands out in my mind! It was in late 1994, after Blair had
almost committed suicide when Max left her. She strolled into Rodi's
Tavern one night, very depressed and sat down next to a drunk, depressed
Todd. He gave her a look of menace and Blair absolutely freaked out, and
rushed out of the bar! It took awhile for the two to get to the point where
they actually trusted one another, but their relationship has always been
very dark and dysfunctional.
Q: In an interview, Frank McCourt, author of "Angela's Ashes" mentioned that
his brother Malachy was on OLTL. Who did he play?
A: Malachy McCourt is better known as the bumbling bar-owner-turned-
international terorist (!) Thomas Kinneally.
Q: How old is Robert S. Woods (Bo)?
A: Can't say for sure ... mid-40s, I would guess.
Q: Since Nate Fillion (Joey) left the show, are we going to get another Joey
to continue the Kelly/Joey love affair?
A: It's safe to say that at some point, the part of Joey will be recast, but
there are no immediate plans to do so. I think it's also safe to say the
Kelly-Joey love affair is over as will become clear in late May.
Q: Did Marcia Cross of Melrose Place really play a character on OLTL? If
so, who? Was there a previous Andy Harrison?
A: Marcia Cross (Kimberly of MP) played Kate Sanders on OLTL from 1986-7.
Check out "A Daytime to Remember" the week of April 28-May 2 as they are
rerunning an episode with Cross in it. Andy Harrison was played from
1989-91 by the very brunette Bronwen Booth.
Q: What was the year and month of "Tina's Midsummer Night's Dream"?
A: July 1992.
Q: What would Viki Lord's full name be, with all her marriages?
A: Victoria Lord Riley Burke Riley Buchanan Carpenter.
Q: Are there any original pictures of the original Andy and Hunter?
A: I believe there might be a picture of Leonard Stabb (Hunter) at the
following address: http://www.execpc.com/~karengr/oltl/oltl.html. Haven't
seen any pictures of Brownen Booth (Andy) anywhere.
Q: Where in the history does it tell about Marty and Andrew's
non-affair?
A: Hmmmm...looks like I may have accidentally left that out! Oh well, it's
quick enough to summarize here. It was late 1994, Marty was having sexual
dreams about a man. For months, she awoke before seeing the man's face, but
it turned out to be Andrew. (Note: I have a feeling it was originally
supposed
to be Suede, but when the new producer came aboard, it was switched to
Andrew). Andrew was having marital problems at the time ... Cassie didn't
feel like she could be a good wife because she was unable to have children.
Andrew somehow sprained his ankle one night, hobbled to Marty's mill-house
and they kissed passionately on the couch, though Andrew stopped himself
before it went further. Blair was peeking through the window and later
told
Cassie who freaked out. Somehow, the parishioners of St. James found out
about it too, and Liz MacNamara tried to have Andrew thrown out of the
church yet again. Andrew was defended by Sloan, Virginia Douglas and
Cassie (who kept up a facade of forgiveness in public, but privately fumed
over Marty-Andrew's near-affair). It was basically a go-nowhere storyline
that fizzled out. Now the writers use it as a justification for why
Cassie should be allowed to have a fling with Kevin...
Q: Did Judith Light leave the show to be on "Who's the Boss?"
A: I don't believe she left for that reason in particular. I think she
wanted to try her luck in Hollywood and "Who's the Boss?" was her first
big break.
Q: Why was Herb Callison's character written off the series and under
what circumstances?
A: The fabulous Anthony Call (Herb) left OLTL in April 1992. His character
was supposedly offered a pristigious job in Chicago, perhaps as District
Attorney, but I can't be sure. He'd just finished serving a term as mayor
of Llanview. The actor and character returned briefly during Christmas
1993 to visit Cassie, but it was only a guest appearance and he has not
been seen since.
Q: In the family tree it says that Jessica was born in 1986, but on the
show she is 17 years old. What gives?
A: Jessica, as are all soap-children, is a victim of SORAS (Soap Opera
Rapid Aging Syndrome). It is a popular technique whereby a child grows from
a toddler to a teenager. Jessica is not the only victim of SORAS - Drew
was born in 1983 (supposedly making him 14), Joey was born in 1980 (making
him 17) and Kevin in 1976 (making him 21) Of course today, the
characters
appear significantly older their supposed ages.
Q: Where can I find daily OLTL updates? Also, who killed Carlo Hesser?
I missed out on the story and would like to catch up.
A: For daily updates, try the TVGuide website at http://www.tvguide.com.
Supposedly, Carlo was killed by his ex-wife Alex. But there is still reason
to doubt that Carlo is actually dead...
