Q: Is Carlo's daughter still alive?

A: Carlo's daughter Charlotte is alive and well, though she hasn't been seen or mentioned in many years.

Q: I saw on he survey results list (ending 2 Nov) the name of the story "Tabernacle of Joy" (1993). What was this all about? Who and what did it involve?

A: Con artist Angela Holliday (Cain Rogan's ex-flame) arrived in Llanview and pulled a scam on the citizens of town by setting up a religious cult, whose slogan was "Have Faith". Angela purported to be able to perform miracles and stunned her followers by healing a paralyzed man. Needless to say, the donations flowed in left and right and Angela made a pretty penny. Of course, the man had never been paralyzed and was just an actor hired by Angela. Others involved in the storyline included: Dorian, who found a scheming ally in Angela; Rebecca Lewis, Angela's naive and trusting follower; Cain and Tina - Angela's ex-lover and his finacee; Wanda Wolek - who fell for Angela's scheme and later led the citizens who angrily ran Angela out of business. For more information, see History 1993.

Q: How did Todd get to Llanview from Chicago?

A: Todd attended Llanview University, where he met Marty Saybrooke (and where his storyline began)

Q: What happened at Mendorra, Badderly Island and the Old West?

A: For in-depth information on these storylines, check out History 1988 and 1990.

Q: Why did Cassie use the name Howard-Reynolds? Were Cassie and Dorian ever close? Did Dorian raise Cassie or was she in a boarding school?

A: Why Cassie used the name Howard, I'm not sure ... Later, she attached Reynolds to the name, when she discovered her father was the famous concert pianist David Reynolds (aka David Renaldi). Then, when she was adopted by Herb Callison, Cassie attached Callison to her name. Dorian and Cassie were never very close, although they have had their moments of understanding and compassion ... Cassie lived away from Dorian for most of her life, and popped up in Llanview at the age of 13.

Q: What happened when Clint found Viki with Sloan?

A: Naturally, Clint fumed. He returned home to Llanview and later punched Sloan's lights out!

Q: What happened with Cassie and Rob Coronal? Were they involved long? Why did they split up? What happened with Jon Russell? Did Dorian approve of them? Did Dorian and Cassie get along?

A: Rob was Cassie's first husband; they fell in love as teenagers and got married, though Dorian was not supportive of it. They were involved off-and-on for years, but their marriage didn't work out in the end - Rob was the son of mob kingpin Alex Crown. Cassie next began flirting with Jon Russell, which caused major problems between Cassie and Dorian, as Dorian was romantically interested in Jon as well! Eventually, Dorian left town and Cassie and Jon got involved - however Jon accused Cassie of still loving Rob and they split up. It looked like Cassie and Rob would reunite but one day, she walked in on Rob kissing rich witch Joanna Leighton (History 1988) - Cassie eventually told Rob she couldn't get involved with him again and left town.
Q: How are Blair and Kelly related?

A: Blair and Kelly are cousins ... their mothers are sisters.
Q: How did Asa, Clint and Bo first arrive in Llanview? How did Viki and Clint first meet?

A: Clint was the first of the Buchanan men to come East. He was chosen by Viki's first husband Joe Riley to take over the Banner after his death (Joe had been diagnosed with a brain tumor) Soon after, Asa and Bo followed him to Llanview, where the three set up shop. Viki and Clint met one night when Joe came stumbling home drunk, accompanied by Clint. At first Viki accused Clint of getting her husband drunk, and for a long time after Joe's death, the two did not get along... they were rival reporters for a time, a la Kevin and Cassie. Of course, over time, they fell in love. (See Histories 1979-1982)
Q: When or how was Viki first seen in Llanview? Was she on the first episode?

A: Victoria Lord, played by Gillian Spencer from 1968-1971, was indeed on the first episode of OLTL. In fact, the first episode airing July 15, 1968, opened with young Victoria Lord throwing open the french doors of the Llanfair mansion and staring out into a starry summer night.
Q: Who first played Victor Lord? How many actors have portrayed Victor?

A: Ernest Graves played the original Victor, from 1968-1974. Shepperd Strudwick followed him in the role from 1974-1976, for which he was nominated for an Emmy. Since then Victor has been played by numerous actors in dream sequences.
Q: When Carlo came back from the dead earlier this year, I missed the explanation. What was it?

A: Simple, there was none! Well, very little, at any rate. Carlo claimed that the gun his neice Stephanie supposedly "killed" him with, had no bullets in it. Thus, Carlo had never really been shot and at the morgue, another body was substituted for his own. Of course, long-time viewers know this is absolutely untrue as Carlo was pronounced dead at the scene by Dr. Larry, but the writers conveniently glossed over the fact.
Q: I know Todd is Viki's half-brother, but isn't he Tina's full-blooded brother? The writers on the show seem to work under the assumption that both Viki and Tina are only his half-sisters. Didn't Viki also have a sister Meredith and a brother Tony? How are they all related?

A: Viki and Meredith were full-blooded sisters (although there were occasional hints that Merri might be another result of one of Victor Lord's affairs, it was never proven) ... Tony, Tina and Todd (!) are Viki's half-siblings. Tony is the son of Victor Lord and Dorothy Randolph. He died in Beirut in the early 1980s. Tina and Todd are both the children of Victor Lord and Irene Clayton Manning.
Q: Whatever happened to Megan's father?

A: Roger Gordon left town in 1991 to undertake an environmental crusade on the West Coast. He returned briefly for the funerals of his daughters Megan and Sarah, both in 1992. He has not been heard from since.
Q: What happened to Sheila? Wasn't she pregnant? Does Hank know about the baby?

A: Actually, Sheila had a miscarriage shortly into her pregnancy. Her marriage to Hank had been under strain for a long time - she felt he was not giving 100% to the marriage. So, she packed up her bags and took a permanent trip to visit her brother Ben in London.
Q: What happened to Powell Lord and Rebecca?

A: Powell Lord was sent to a mental institution after he went psychotic and raped several women in the hospital parking lot. Todd was accused of the crimes but was later cleared. Rebecca, reeling from Powell's heinous crime, left town in anguish. She found herself unable to commit to a relationship with Todd. (See History 1994)
Q: Why did Sloan Carpenter come to Llanview? How did Viki first meet Sloan?

A: Sloan came to town to make peace with his son, Andrew. Sloan had just been diagnosed with Hodgkin's disease and was afraid he didn't have much time left. Unfortunately, it was a long time before Sloan and Andrew worked out their problems (See History 1992). Sloan was also working on a book - a biography of Victor Lord, entitled "Lord of the Banner." That was how he and Viki met - he was interviewing her about her father, and the two became good friends, confidantes and, eventually, married.
