Another World
James portrayed the character of Neil Johannsen on Another World in 1997. He wasn't on AW for long, but he certainly made an impact! That's when I first became a fan, and started this website soon after he appeared in February of that year.
Close Encounters
Donna also attended the AW Fan Luncheon and here is her take on James (plus a pic of the two of them!)
Ah yes, I recently had the wonderful pleasure of meeting that gorgeous
specimen of a man James Hyde!!! I attended the 97' AW Club Luncheon! The
second James entered the room my mouth dropped to the floor. The man is
beautiful, television does him no justice! Just looking at him there I was
delirious, but when I went over to him and asked if I could take a picture with
him...OH MY GOD!! I started trembling, he has the most gorgeous eyes, and he
was wearing the most incredible shirt. Every head was on him! He is
incredible too, I told him I was looking forward to whatever happens with his
character, and he said thank you so much sweetie... Be Still My Heart!! I
also asked if I could give him a hug, he grabbed me and gave me this big hug.
Meeting him was a wondeful experience, fans, you will not be disappointed
should you be lucky enough to meet this wonderful actor!
The Maestro attended the AW Fan Luncheon. Here is a link to her comments about James
and to a picture of her and James!
Soapfan attended the recent AW Fan Luncheon in New York and met James there.
I encountered James at the AW Fan club Luncheon, he was great. He was very
friendly and sweet, when I asked him for a picture he said "Sure come over
here." I went over and he said "So, how you doin babe?" I was like I am fine
and you? He is even better looking in real life.
Jessica went to Starfest 97 a couple of weeks ago and actually met James. In her own words she tells us about it!
James was very friendly. It was odd because the day before I had gone to
get my hair cut and whose face should be staring out at me but... James Hyde's.
I mentioned it to him and he said he had done some modeling. I believe that
this was his first fan event and you could tell that he took it very seriously.
Although there were lots of people there, he took his time and let you know that
he was interested in hearing what you had to say. He was one of the only
stars to ask my name and to shake my hand hello and good-bye. Duh. That
sounds stupid but when you meet lots of people, it can be hard to remain
nice.

James' Feminine Side
If you were like me, and not able to attend the AW Fan Luncheon in April of 1997, you might enjoy these pictures of James Hyde's alter ego "Jamina" (ok, I made up the name, but you have GOT to see this!)
