Ah, yes! The reviews section! Unlike the Essays Page, which deals with broader issues, the Reviews Page simply provides a brief one-or-two page review of an animated feature or TV show. Reviews can be about any animated film or TV show either current or noncurrent. The focus, obviously, is on films which are available on video for sale or rental at the time of writing.
I'd love to include more reviews of films that aren't widely available (such as those on laserdisc in Japan, or some of the classic Max Fleischer shorts) but that gets us into the arena of import shops and second-hand videos. These may not be viable routes for many of you who live in smaller towns throughout the world. And it would be difficult for me to recommend a film only availiable as a bootleg because, technically, boots are illegal. Still, from time to time, an obscure nugget will be tossed in with the hope that your cable company may broadcast such a film one day.
Also, I tend to review films that I can say something nice about. If I was a professional critic and was doing this page for profit, I'd have no qualms about including reviews of animated films I hate. But life's short, and I'm not going to spend much time writing about a film I loathe popping in my VCR. If you'd like my opinions on a specific title, contact me.

Clicking on one of the buttons below will take you to a submenu that has reviews of animated films whose title begins with that letter. Strongly recommended films are followed by an asterisk. Unless otherwise indicated, all non-English films were reviewed in subtitled versions.
