Her Mother is professor of Art history and her father is a professor of English Litreture. She herself has a Arts degree in English Literature. Tradgedy struck early in her life when her brother Alexander was killed in a fire at age 14. Lauren thought she was too thin and attempted to eat her way into feminine form. In her own words though, that only lead to a big behind. Lauren went on to attend Sarah Lawrence College where her roommate would be another aspiring actress Robin Givens. Lauren had minor modeling jobs with area knitting magazines but her film debut in "Seven Minutes in Heaven" and "Band of the Hand" led to her role as Julie Chandler on "All My Children", for which she received a daytime Emmy Nomination.
