Chapters

Chapters - When you watch a DVD disc, or look at the inside of the packaging, you will notice that the movie is divided up into chapters (usually the range is from 20-40 chapters). The chapters are very similar to chapters in a book which divide the story into related pieces, and are accessed the same way you would access different songs on a music CD. When playing, the DVD plays from chapter to chapter without interruption.

The advantage of chapter stops is that they allow you to quickly get to a point in the movie you want to see, or easily return to a point in a movie where you left off from during a previous viewing.

Most often, these chapters are easily organized for access in the menu screens on the DVD disc, which give you a small picture with each chapter to represent its content. You can also easily skip from one chapter to another by pressing either the skip forward or skip back buttons on the remote or player.
