WARNING
You make the following adjustments at your own risk!
DVD NOW does not accept reponsibility for any consequences of the modification.
The modification will void the warranty of your player.
Follow the below steps carefully! (Should only be done by a person with experience in
electronics.)
(1) Disconnect all cabeling and power from the DVD unit.
(2) Remove screws allowing for unit to be opened.
(3) When opened, locate the MPEG board. (It is the PC board on the right behind the
players front pannel controls, and has three cables runnning into it.)
(4) Carefully remove the ribbon cables and push-lock connectors holding the board
down in the corners. (you may need also to remove screws.)
(5) Once the board is loose, flip it over to expose the bottom.
(6) Along one side of the board will be 4 large rectangular chips and 3 large square
chips. If you make this the top of the board when held, you will find a small 8 pinned
square chip in the top left labeled (on the board) as "IC6041", the chip will be labeled
(on the chip) possibly as "C01A652", although the latter may differ.
(7) The pins on the chip will be labeled in the four corners. With a pair of small
side cutters, cut (close to the board) the pin labeled 8. (cutting close to the board
allows it to be easily re-soldered if needed.)
(8) Now gently bend the pin upwards (careful not to break it!), so that it makes a
clean break from the board.
(9) Carefully replace everthing to it's propper place, and get ready to enjoy ZONE
