The Thirteenth Floor
"The 13th Floor" is a perfect example of a terrific movie that finds itself with the potential of being a very big film in the movie world, but alas finds itself trailing behind perhaps due to limited time, budget or simply vision.
What there was of any of the above appears to be spent on a fabulous recreation of the early 1930s that our main character Douglas Hall (Craig Bierko) enters as part of a virtual world he has helped create within a vast computer system.
What Hall finds within this world as real as our own, is that the characters within have developed their own emotions and feelings giving them lives of their own as real as ours. However, when one inside learns the truth, we are brought to question our own reality.
A fabulous film, this is one to see, but one you will realize could have been much more.
Parental Note: Language, Violence, Adult Situations
The disc is double sided - single layered and contains the original widescreen as well as the full frame pan and scan version of the movie. The mastering is excellent, as are the many extras.
