Alien

Sigorney Weaver is E. Ripley in the spectacular 1979 movie "Alien" which began an unforgettable legacy of sci-fi on the big screen.

An officer of a small crew aboard a cargo ship returning to Earth, Ripley and six others are awakened from hyper-sleep when their ship picks up a strange distress call from a nearby planet. Upon reaching the source of the signal, an away investigating away team frantically returns to the ship with an unknown alien organism. Attached to the face of crew member Kane (John Hurt), this bizarre life form leaves the crew baffled then suddenly disappears, its offspring soon after bursts from his chest, leaving the lives of the remaining crew in jeopardy.

One of the great classics of the sci-fi genre, this film holds up as well today as it did 20 years ago. Fabulously frightening and filled with all the elements of great film-making, from acting and action to sets and sounds, including the incredible directing of Ridley Scott, this special edition is sure not to miss the collection of any sci-fi action fan.

Parental Note: Language, Violence, Frightening Scenes

The disc is single sided - dual layered and contains the original widescreen version of the movie. The mastering is excellent, as is the superb collection of extras. It doesn't get much better than this with terrific animated menus and an audio commentary by the director Ridley Scott just for this special edition DVD, to an almost enless photo gallery of images and much much more, this makes for one jam packed DVD title.
