The American President
A marvelous collaboration of writing, acting, directing and photography makes "The American President" an excellent addition to any DVD collection.
Starring Michael Douglas as America's man of the oval office, we find ourselves walking the White House halls with this widower and single parent just looking for a bit of normality in his life. Doing quite well in the polls, he puts them to the test when after falling for a local lobbyist (Annette Benning), he re- enters the dating scene, making himself the perfect target for his key opponent (Richard Dreyfuss) to begin attacking his character.
With additional cast members including Michael J. Fox, Martin Sheen and David Paymec, a superb movie is amassed that is certainly one to be seen.
Of odd interest, a keen eye will notice the movie is released by Warner, yet the movie titles list it as a Universal picture, and to top it off, the trailer carries the Columbia TriStar logo.
Parentel Note: Minor Language, Adult Situations
The disc is single sided - dual layered and contains the original widescreen version of the movie. The mastering is good, but the video is interlaced and there are few extras.
