The Avengers 1964: Vol.3
Britain's dynamic duo, keepers of justice and stars in one of classic television's best loved series, Patrick Macnee and Honor Blackman are John Steed and Cathy Gale in The Avengers.
Build a Better Mouse Trap - In a bizarre and uncanny coincidence, various mechanical devices in the vicinity of a small town are breaking down for no apparent reason. The Avengers however never stop working and are soon on the case, Cathy keeping an eye on several young bikers while Steed a little out of his element goes after a couple of old ladies.
The Outside-In Man - After a missing agent presumed dead reappears after five years in an enemy prison, he is still as determined now to fulfill his age-old orders. The only problem is that the person he was sent to kill is now a decorated general making a diplomatic trip to Britain. With Steed already on security duty, he has his hands full as he ends up head to head, agent against agent in a battle of wits... or so it may seem.
The Charmers - To be reshot with a twist three years later with Emma Peel (Diana Rigg) the feminine side of the dynamic duo, this round John Steed and Cathy Gale find themselves working with the other side. With little choice after a secret organization tries to pit both sides against each other in heated battle, Cathy joins the enemy while Steed in exchange is joined by an enemy agent, but even under a truce the enemy can rarely be trusted.
Parental Note: Minor Violence
The disc is single sided - dual layered and contains the original full frame version of the show. The disc mastering is good considering the aged source, but the video is interlaced and there are few extras.
