The Avengers 1964: Vol.4

Slick and sleek, suave and sexy, they are John Steed and Mrs. Cathy Gale, a.k.a. The Avengers, the unstoppable British agent duo packing every episode with action and excitement.

Concerto - When a Russian pianist on a goodwill tour of Britain becomes a pawn in a deadly scheme to advert peaceful trade talks, The Avengers find themselves called to action. Keeping a watchful eye for answers to a plot unfolding all around them, John and Emma with an ear to the ground, take note of the key players in the hopes of keeping harmony.

Esprit De Corps - When a retired Scottish military officer reenlists with extreme eagerness, his regiment makes reservations to retire with royalty. In addition, a lengthy lineage begins drawing battle lines, but with trouble on the horizon, all lines tend to cross paths with The Avengers.

Lobster Quadrille - The last episode for Honor Blackman as Mrs. Cathy Gale before leaving to become Pussy Galore in the James Bond film series, we are treated to yet another exciting episode of The Avengers not to be missed. When an agent turns up dead in a small burnt out fishing hut, John and Cathy are left to put out their nets and see what clues they can pull up. What they soon find is that lobster isn't the only thing being hauled ashore to the quaint English shores.

Parental Note: Minor Violence

The disc is single sided - dual layered and contains the original full frame version of the show. The disc mastering is good considering the aged source, but the video is interlaced and there are few extras.
