The Avengers 1966: Vol.3
With some twisted plot always at the fingertips of a criminal mind trying to under mind Britain's security, John Steed (Patrick Macnee) and Mrs. Emma Peel (Diana Rigg) prove often to be Britain's only line of defense. Together they are The Avengers, a dynamic duo of British agents always ready for action. With one great story after another, this British TV series full of quirky comedy and witty writing is a fantastic example of classic television not to be missed.
The Danger Makers - A sudden rash of senior military men, showing up dead or nearly so after putting themselves in extreme danger has The Avengers on a dangerously odd case. Getting a new middle name of Danger, Emma and John find danger while looking for danger, and put themselves... in danger.
A Touch of Brimstone - All seems innocent fun when a group of British men recreate the Hellfire club of the 1700s, but when their innocent mischief turns into mayhem and murder the British government put their best man... and woman on the case... The Avengers. Of note, Diana Rigg's own personal design of her shapely corset had this episode banned from American television of that time.
What the Butler Saw - Secrets of the British army, air force and navy found to have been leaked lead to three men, all of whom are devoted to queen and country. However, a group of butlers striving for better butling, appear to have some dark secrets of their own, proving good help sometimes is hard to find.
The disc is single sided - dual layered and contains the original full frame version of the show. The disc mastering is good but the video is interlaced and there are few extras.
