The Avengers 1967: Vol.1
Emma and John, sexy and suave, black and white... well not quite. Still just as sexy and ever
so suave, Mrs. Emma Peel and John Steed get even more colour added to their already colourful
characters as 1967 brought forth not only one of the most popular seasons of the Avengers, but
also the grand transformation from black and white to colour.
From Venus with Love - Determined to raise funds for a manned mission to Venus, members
of the Venusian society also raise some eyebrows when they find themselves dealing with a
deadly unidentified flying killer. With Steed the next member on planet patrol, an eye to the
sky could make him next to die.
The Fear Merchants - Market research was always aimed to put the competition underfoot,
but never six-foot underground. As a merger is rejected by those of the porcelain industry,
they find their lives in real danger of a takeover from a crackpot as dangerous as a bull in a
china shop.
Escape in Time - When the world's most notorious criminals on the run suddenly start
disappearing, John and Emma are put on the case after two previous agents turn up dead. Hot on
the trail of the disappearances, they find themselves nearly becoming a thing of the past as
they strive to make another criminal organization ancient history.
The disc is single sided - dual layered and contains the original full frame version of the
show. The disc mastering is good but the video is interlaced and there are few extras.
