The Avengers
Trouble is brewing over London, and so is a deadly storm under the command of the treacherous Sir August De Wynter (Sean Connery). With his finger on the weather and countries paying dearly for their sunny days, John Steed (Ralph Fiennes) and Mrs. Peel (Uma Thurman) team up in "The Avengers" as the suave duo on a mission to bring a bit of sunshine back to the streets of London as well as the classic television show of the ‘60s.
The Avengers has all the makings of a blockbuster film with a terrific cast, popular story base, plus fantastic special effects, camera work and musical score. But even with all that in its corner and some witty and clever writing to boot, when the credits roll, there's no saving the film destined to be big from falling very much under the weather.
The disc is double sided - single layered and contains the original widescreen as well as the full frame pan & scan version of the movie. The mastering is terrific, but the extras few.
