The Bachelor
Even though he had dated many women, Jimmie Shannon (Chris O'Donnell) cherished his freedom as
a bachelor. The last of his single friends, he managed to steer clear of any serious
commitment.
However, all is about to change as with the passing of his grandfather, he is willed the entire
estate worth over 100 million, under the condition that he gets married before the evening of
his 30th birthday. Unfortunately, his birthday is less than a day away.
Madly in love with his girlfriend Anne (Renee Zellweger), he proposes to her with nothing short
of disastrous results, his true love slipping from his arms. Now stuck with a pressing
deadline, his fortune at stake, good friend Marco (Artie Lange) joins him on his quest to
strip him of his bachelorhood.
A highly entertaining film, it is not only packed full of fun, laughter and high-energy
excitement, but also many familiar faces such as Mariah Carey, Jennifer Esposito,
Brooke Shields, James Cromwell, Edward Asner and Hal Holbrook.
Asked if I'de take this as a movie not to miss, I would have to say... I do.
The disc is single sided - dual layered and contains the original widescreen and full frame
pan and scan versions of the movie. The mastering is excellent, but there are few extras.
