Batman Returns
Once again, for the first of the sequels, Michael Keaton stars as Batman next to the equally
talented Danny DeVito as the Penguin and Michelle Pfieffer as Catwoman. Directed by Tim
Burton, this is the most bizarre of the Batman series, but just as exciting and
action-packed.
The Penguin deformed at birth, is abandoned as a child. Living in the sewers for over the past
30 years, he decides now is the time to surface and join society. Seizing the opportunity,
a corrupt business man plans to make this new media star mayor and his ticket to greater
power.
Catwoman meanwhile, living in a world of confusion, is duped like the rest of the city into
trusting the penguin, thus putting her against Batman. At the same time however, she has
disastrous plans for the Penguin's corrupt business partner, putting her on the side of
Batman. Everything for her really turns upside-down when she finds her and Batman's alter-egos
falling in love.
A terrific and wonderfully bizarre movie that captures all the excitement and action of Gotham's
favourite super hero.
The disc is double sided - single layered and contains the widescreen and full frame versions
of the movie on opposite sides. The mastering is great, but the extras are no more than
pages of text.
