The Blue Lagoon
Surviving a disastrous ship fire, a cook and two children find themselves marooned on a luscious
deserted island. With all hopes of a rescue quickly disappearing, the cook also passes on in
death, leaving the two children Emmeline (Brooke Shields) and Richard (Christopher Atkins) to
fend for themselves.
Untouched by the distant civilized world, alone they learn to cope with the many facets of
growing up from survival to sexuality. A simple tale to tell, we are given a glimpse beyond the
complex world to find one containing the true purity of what life has to offer. Here we learn
with the bare necessities, how little more is needed to live a full life.
Wonderful brought to film, the movie with its rich story comes beautifully alive against the
picturesque Fiji backdrop, giving us a movie filled with the same magic dreams are made of.
Parental Note:Adult Situations, Nudity
The disc is double sided - single layered and contains the original widescreen as well as
the full frame pan and scan version of the movie. The mastering is excellent as are the
several extras.
