Brokendown Palace
An on the spur adventure has two dear friends Alice (Claire Danes) and Darlene (Kate Beckinsale)
traveling around the world to the exotic locations of Thailand. There they befriend a
mysterious young man who convinces then to join him in Hong Kong for a weekend. This however
is where their world is turned upside down as airport customs discovers several kilos of
heroine stashed in one of their bags.
Found guilty of smuggling drugs, they are sentenced to 33 years in a Bangkok woman's
correctional institute. Here they find themselves trapped in a strange world much different
their own, and with its own set of rules that makes the world of freedom they once took for
granted to be a thing of the past. With few places left, they turn to a local American born
lawyer (Bill Pullman) in the hopes of proving their innocence.
A gripping tale, a wonderful cast delivers a believable story that show the roads in life at
times look more like a dirt path than paved with gold. Along with great music and locations,
Brokendown Palace is one not to miss.
The disc is single sided - single layered and contains the original widescreen version of the
movie. The mastering is eterrific, but there are few extras.
