Bubblegum Crisis
Take to the streets of Mega Tokyo 2032 with the four toughest ladies in town, the Knight Sabers.
In the first three episodes of the "Bubblegum Crisis," we are treated to some visually
stunning animation, joined by a driving soundtrack and intense storytelling.
With the police nearly defenseless against an evil power-hungry corporation building androids
capable of mass destruction, the Knight Sabers are mankind's only hope. However, this time,
the evil they face may be more than they bargained for.
Although very Japanese in style due to its obvious origin, some American influence can be seen
in the slight Blade Runner look to the city and vehicles. It is also obvious in the opening
instrumental music and two of the main characters being named Leon and Priss, not to mention
the whole android theme of the story. Also, a keen eye will notice the map in the very first
shot of episode three to contain the names of cast and characters from Top Gun.
Overall, the Bubblegum Crisis delivers some fantastic anime not to be missed.
Parental Note: Violence, Language & Brief Nudity
The disc is single sided - single layered and contains the original full frame version of the
program. The mastering is good, but the extras are few.
