Chicken Run
A movie that's certainly all it's cracked up to be, "Chicken Run" is one eggs-traordinary
piece of stop motion animation that is sure to have you clucking and chuckling.
For those familiar with the Wallace and Gromit animated shorts, the spectacular claymation
techniques of Nick Park and Peter Lord are nothing new. For those not, get ready to be
astounded at the rich detail of this refined classic art called stop motion, and with the
wonderful look behind the scenes included on the DVD, you will truly gain an appreciation for
the immense work and commitment involved.
Starring the voice talent of Mel Gibson as Rocky Rooster, we find ourselves at Tweedy's Chicken
Farm, where tired of being "cooped" up, a local chicken, Ginger, fills her bird brain with
thoughts of freedom. However, with as many failures as attempts, all hope is nearly lost until
the answer literally falls from the sky, Rocky the flying rooster.
Now determined to fly the coop with Rocky teaching them to spread their wings, it is a race
against time as the fowl Mrs. Tweedy begins construction of a chicken pie machine.
Unfortunately Rocky holds a dark secret, he nor any other chicken can really learn to fly.
A delight for all ages, the film is a true visual masterpiece, both egg-travagant and
egg-citing.
The disc is single sided - dual layered and contains the original widescreen version
of the movie. The mastering is excellent, as are the many extras.
